Yes, yes, we know many of you aren’t boozing. Hell, we’re trying our hardest not to as well at the moment – but fear not, this is one to scrawl into your diaries for the end of January, when you can return to the wobbly land of inebriation with glee. (Or, if you prefer, sip a tap water.)
If you’ve not been down yet, Off The Cuff is a bohemian wine bar and music venue in in Herne Hill packed with homely clutter, nice staff, reclaimed furniture and random objets.
It plays host to a variety of creative happenings each week, and it’s here that homegrown co-operative Pretty Ugly Records, co-founded by talented troubadour and painter Matt ‘Lupen Crook‘ Pritchard, host their monthly showcase of tunesmiths.
The night is curated in collaboration with members of art-rock group Lost Film Foundation. The skinny? Well, it’s basically live music plus tons of bespoke visual projections all the way, transforming the railway arch – we hear – into something quite spesh.
In just four months they’ve showcased some pretty nifty alternative, electronica, noise rock and new wave acts, and this one sees Kent-based alt-folk troupe The Flowing dishing up choons from newly-released album Talk About Wonder, as well as The Dirty Girls (DJ set).
In short? Well worth breaking the dryathlon for.
