A few weeks ago, we shared a rather extraordinary story about London Bridge. And if you have a soft spot in your heart for this SE1 monument, you might also enjoy the two-week exhibition on at the Underdog Gallery starting today and running until 6 June.

On display will be historical photographs (from around 1865-1985) provided by Southwark Council and Metropolitan Archives, and they’ll highlight significant events, industry, major developments and everyday life. Alongside these, will be contemporary photographs by up-and-coming snappers, as chosen through a competition via the excellent creative network, Ideas Tap.

Team London Bridge, which has organised the show, is also behind the Arches and Tunnels Project and the area’s development – so locals will also get the chance to find out more about what is planned for the area as there will be leaflets about it all to pick up there too.

Underdog Gallery, Arch 6, Crucifix Lane, SE1 3JW Opening times: 10.30am-7pm Mon-Fri 12pm-5pm Saturday and Sunday. Exhibition runs from Thursday, 23 May to Wednesday 5 June 2013.
