Pinboard: urban demolition art in southeast London, the pop-up National Theatre and the return of the South Lambeth market

6. South Lambeth Market launches its spring season

pickles-card

Ian Beever started the South Lambeth Market in 2011 as a community project to bring people together locally and support residents to generate new ways to earn extra cash or start a business.

And the seasonal event starts up again for the summer this Saturday, outside the Cavendish Arms in Stockwell. It will then run once a month until the Christmas market in December. Stalls will be selling everything from tapas to pastries to secondhand clothes, vintage homewares, homemade jewellery and jam. And, in some excellent news, just announced – there will be an ice-cream van. Let’s hope the spring we’ve had a whiff of will continue… But to be on the safe side, the pub will have the log fire going and hot, mulled apple juice on the go (rum optional). Dogs are allowed too, in case you need to know (and if you do, you might like our mini dog-friendly guide to south London).

The market runs on Saturday 13 April from 10am to 4pm at the Cavendish Arms, 128 Hartington Rd, SW8
