“Have you ever walked past a sausage dog and not smiled? Exactly!” So goes the crowd-funding sales patter from Emilie Harley, whose dreams of opening an unusual new café in Brixton are in your hands. You may have heard about Emilie’s quest already: she is dotty about daschunds – and has been trying to raise £55,000 to open a south London hangout with a resident a crew of her favourite mini pups as hosts. Or, in her own words, “tasty snacks, a good cuppa and creative workshops in the company of our adorable SAUSAGE DOGS! Take them for a walk or chill in the knitting corner and make them a coat…”
So far, funding for the café, which Emilie is keen to point out will adhere to strict Health and Safety and Animal Care Standards – has a way to go. But Emile reckons just £2000 would get things up and running, and she’s over the half way mark. Think it’s a good idea?
