6. Hip Hop pop-up shop in Brixton
The MBC Foundation is an inspiring organisation set up two years ago, in memory of Max Boomgaarden Cook, a Brixton boy who died prematurely along with two of his close friends. Its aim is to channel Max’s creativity and passion for the community activities that had a positive impact on his short life. It does this by supporting other young people in fundraising for their own local youth projects and to help them achieve their aspirations.
And by way of fundraising activities this weekend, MBC are hosting their Hip Hop Pop-Up Shop in Brixton. On sale will be clothes, jewellery, artwork, gifts and HustleBucks t-shirts. All cheered along by guest DJs spinning – we’re guessing – hip hop.
Find the weekend-only shop at: BHC Brixton Housing Co-op. 90 Railton Road, SE24. Open Saturday and Sunday, 23-24 March, 10am-6pm. Got anything you could donate to the sale? They will come and collect if you’re localish: email yamina@mbcfoundation.org.uk
