Hot on the heels of the recreation of Derek Trotter’s living room at last month’s Ideal Home Show (you missed that?! Noooooo), a rather more serious effort to preserve Peckham’s buildings.

The area’s town centre recently became a conservation area and, as such, its historic buildings are protected. At least in theory they are. Local action group, Peckham Vision, is tackling concerns that in practice this may not happen – and building a team of local “monitors”, to keep tabs on various structures.
