“If you’re selling up, Brixton if you’re being cool,” Rayner retorts.
Haha. We’ll leave you to decide how true that may be. Meanwhile, back to the book: our protagonist will be signing copies of A Greedy Man in a Hungry World (William Collins) at Herne Hill Books on Sunday. His new tome is all about why shopping local won’t help to save the planet: “Farmers’ markets are merely a lifestyle choice for the affluent middle classes,” it proposes provocatively.
And Rayner’s movie, which outlines the basics of why, is sure to ruffle a few (organic) feathers at the local farmers’ market which, brilliantly, will be just outside on Sunday. Well, it’s what he does best after all. No wonder he’s asked in his film if he’s looking for slap.* What a good sport.
