2. Camberwell: Open House and undergraduate end of year show
It’s your chance to see work from the artists of the future as Camberwell College of Arts holds its undergraduate end of year show tomorrow, Saturday 29 June. The exhibition features students’ work across a variety of different mediums: drawing; graphic design; illustration; painting; photography; sculpture; 3D design and conservation.
It’s a family-friendly event too – children (and their accompanying adults) are encouraged to get creative with the college’s free art and design workshops on for the day. These include a darkroom experience, stop frame animation sessions, t-shirt screen printing, face painting, live tours and plenty more. Check out the sort of action you can expect in the video below.
And, trivia for the day: did you know that past SE5 graduates include: the painter Howard Hodgkin, Hollywood actor Tim Roth – who had ambitions to become a sculptor – Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and, goodness, Samantha Cameron?
Words: Michael D Hogan
Camberwell College of Arts open day, Saturday 29th June, 1-5pm, Camberwell College of Arts, 45 Peckham Road, London SE5 8UF, workshops stop running at 4pm
