Although it opened only three years ago, this indoor-outdoor streetfood night market from Street Feast instantly became one of our favourites ever in the capital.
It’s now returning to Lewisham on the bank holiday weekend (28th April) for grub, booze and lashings of SE13 vibes.
After the initial three-day bank holiday blowout it’s business as usual, opening every Friday and Saturday night for the remainder of the summer, with ten micro-diners and five bars.
Brand new traders this year include Tacos del Rey, Japanese soul food from Nanban (a tip is the deep-fried chicken wings with ponzu butter honey sauce), plus Lewisham locals Mama’s Jerk, Mother Flipper and SE Cakery. There are StreetFeast favourites too like Up In My Grill, Mother Clucker, You Doughnut, Petare and INK.
Thirsty now? Try cocktails at the Rotary Bar or Rum Shack, craft beer at Can Hatch, or catch the last of the evening’s rays up on the Lewisham Highline. Niiice.
After all that you’ll probably want need to get down, so our advice? Hit Winyl for a dance-off with your mates.
Model Market opens Fri 28 April, 196 Lewisham High Street SE13 6LS. Entry is FREE before 7pm and £3 after. Doors open every Friday and Saturday from 5pm till 1am.
