Did you know there was a gallery in the former Loughborough Hotel – a venue (pictured left) that old-school locals may associate more with frenzied late-night salsa dancing sessions.
We were delighted to wander past recently and discover that although the building has mainly (sadly) been turned into flats, the ground floor is a rather lovely little gallery space. It’s run by French Guyana-born Scarlett Massell, a local artist who runs a print studio at the premises.
Go and check it out on Saturday between 11am – 6pm (or, by appointment, tomorrow – Friday 31 May) if you fancy having a nose. Scarlett is hosting a very short show featuring work of recent work by five members of staff from nearby Camberwell College of Arts – Paul Atkins, Simon Burbidge, Jim Fielding, Brian D Hodgson and Tony Lee. See some of their work right and below.
