Peckham: Get in quick for space at Rooftop Cinema
Peckham’s new summer Rooftop Cinema is doing a roaring trade thanks to the weather – meaning films are already selling out at least a week ahead (or three, in the case of Pulp Fiction). But get in now, and you still can still secure a seat for some good’uns up on the Bussey Building’s specially astroturfed roof, where there are deckchairs for your comfort, wireless headphones for their neighbours’ comfort, food stalls and a bar.
We have our eye on Cocktail starring Tom Cruise, arguably in his finest role (ex-soldier drops out of business school to become New York’s finest bartender. In Jamaica! With 80s hair! Come on…). Thats on 17 August, and there are also spaces still available for other favourites, including City of God (21 August), Pan’s Labrynth (14 August), The Usual Suspects (2 August) and Jaws (3 August) – in case you didn’t see the amazing screening of it last night at Brockwell Lido.
The Bussey Building is at 133 Rye Lane, Peckham SE15. Tickets are £12 call 020 7998 7717 . Rooftopfilmclub.com
