Myatt’s Field: Learn to grow gorgeous grub
Have you dreamed of being green-fingered enough to make meals from bountiful crops grown in your own backyard – but never managed to nurture anything beyond a tomato plant (or not even a tomato plant…)?
A new scheme at Myatt’s Fields Park is offering a course in food growing to five volunteers, and if you are unemployed or on a low income, there is also the chance for free accredited training at Capel Manor College. The park’s Greenhouse Group aims to become a “centre of excellence for food growing”, and the produce will be used by Myatt’s Fields Little Cat Cafe as well as in various local food projects. You would need to be available every Wednesday.
