Pinboard: lazy Pompeii, wrestling in Southwark and sexy food

2. Go to London’s tiniest art gallery

Crystal Society
Did you know that Camberwell is home to possibly the smallest, and most enterprising art gallery in (we think) the whole of London, if not the UK?

DSC00501If you haven’t ever checked out London Arts Board, as you can see on the left, it is literally a board. This disused council noticeboard on the corner of Peckham and Vestry Roads, has been appropriated by local film-maker and artist, Liberty Rowley to give emerging artists the chance to have a solo exhibition in London. A lovely idea.

Its latest exhibition went up this week and runs (like all of the shows there do) for a month. Crystal Society, by Katherine Gardener, makes use of luxury advertising in glossy magazines, and “explores our capitalist desires through removal and displacement of products and information”.

Below is a map to help you find it.
